Omni/light as extra for mtbike. Corona/vehiclelight128 issues.

Enviado: 26 Mai 2019, 13:13
por Zeneric
Applied vehiclelight128 (and blue right(left?) headlight color) on a lamp object attached to mtbike's handlebars object.
Attached an omni to the lamp object.

'tis result:

Corona stays still, not following the mtbike's movement.
Vehiclelight128 is not working - no texture light on lamp.

Solutions?

That mtbike is from my mod "Smooth Cirminal Bicycles" btw. I'm updating it to adapt Vehfuncs (mostly extras), and stuff.

This kind of thing should not be done this way, especially on bikes where only some part of the body tilts visually. The correct thing is to do the way the game does for headlights.

Headlight's corona would bright so big, not making sense for a small bike lamp. Is there a way to decrease the headlight corona's size? And alter headlight's color?

The game does not add corona on the bicycles, so I think we would have to add a new one, and then, there is no problem adjusting the size.
Have you tried adding with ImVehFt? The extra lights system.

I think EPT fits this category and also EPT needs an update since it makes the Coronas of train super big, so something can be also done for trains.

Yeah, I noticed it days ago.
But the mod is a tweaker, doesn't add light where it doesn't exist.

Do you think VehFuncs could fit this?
Also different headlight colors and make it possible to attach car's headlights to train, tram and bicycles?

Yeah, but headlight colors are really necessary? Remembering that ImVehFt can add lights color RGB colors, but not headlights.

Can't use ImVehFt because RenderHook doesn't support it.

Yes, headlights color is necessary, you know with this many possibilities will open up, for example @Zeneric's trains(as well as upcoming tram) uses Omni which though gives good results but still not a very good way for headlights, and I think your mom will raise the possibilities for modders like @Zeneric, hope you will think about this.

Seems to me the same color as the original game headlights.

@Junior_djjr, my bad, I mean the headlight shade color, but instead of using Omni the real headlight should be used and the result should be like this

The only thing I would like to know is the utility of changing color, it's not that hard to do, but it's not that easy either. I don't think it's that necessary.

If we use the Tuning Mod feature to choose the color, everything is easy, but you'll have the job of picking up his code and switching to VehFuncs, so updating the Tuning Mod and force peoples to use VehFuncs for that (otherwise you would need Tuning Mod installed for this, which is not cool).

Headlights should only be needed for trains and bicycles (and I find it kind of weird to use on bicycles, anyway). Also not so required at the moment, there are more important things to do before.

Headlights that can be altered (sizes including corona, the area of affection, colors - yellow? yellow shade too, and etc. I just got an idea at this moment - flickering headlight randomly as if malfunctioning - like lampposts). Not only for just trains and bicycles - also for other vehicles. Such as an old worn car based on a car from 1970-80's - makes no sense for it to shine white headlight as if new lamps on the old worn car. Rockstar Games invoked the 90's vibe in GTA SA (yellow/green/etc filters). Why not altered headlight colors too. Change the color to almost yellowish for most of cars (configurable) - to invoke the 90's vibe more.

Configurable headlights would be good replacements for my train mods (omni is ok - but headlight would be better).

I was a big bike fan in 90's (I was around 11-12 in 1992). Used to have lamps on my old bikes. I'd point the light beam to the ground, creating the light circle (so I can see obstacles - rocks, etc - in front when riding on dark night rocky hills). And sometimes the light flickered.
