[SA/Help] How to increase geometry vertices limit?

How can I increase vertices limit? I'm trying to export this rifle into the game, but game freeze up while loading models. In normal map tool i get this error
3ds max -

65k verticles is overkill, and you're over the 16/32 bit something limit. weld all verticles at 0.001 first before exporting.
Probably also bugged (duplicates, etc).

In my experience, I can't put any single object into the game with more than 32,767 vertices .dff, or 2,000 vertices .col (cars and peds can have more). If I go over, those objects will not render. I don't know about the crashing.
That said, you can easily whittle that down with the ProOptimizer modifier.

Or you could split the object into multiple objects if you want to keep the object poly count intact.
