An abandoned town ruled by vegs

Cool concept bro, looking forward to it.
Now talking about VC and LC, have you ever thought about adding restaurants (Well Stacked Pizza, Burger Shot, Clucking Bell) in these cities? One issue i have noticed with these 2 cities is that if you live in them you'll eventually get hungry and there is no place to have a meal, which means you'll start to lose energy and then have to go back to San Andreas to eat.
There's no need to change the original map by adding the restaurants, there are places in the original map that can be used for these purposes, just one enex and icon on the radar would do it.

For instance, this place in Liberty City could become a Burger Shot (It looks like one)

There are already Ammu Nations, hair salons, clothing shops, strip clubs and even betting shop, so why not restaurants? They are important.

I think Neon is working on that. He has a lot of features/bug fixes done/planned for GTA Mixed.
I'm responsible for the bridges/island, not the cities (I'd do them but I'm focusing on the island first/max).

some buildings left (maybe more).

Need school, housing projects (one generic model and one unique model but both style/look must be same), complex apartments (one generic model), condos (one generic model), one more house, one more office building (taller) and more stores (mid class).
Gonna do another house.
Feel free to provide building references of these for me to model after.

The third most important thing in a ghost town after ferris wheels and forests, most zombie games have a motel in the town.

Fourth most important thing in a ghost town XD
The only things left to complete the typical video game ghost town are wrecked buses/trucks, dead trees, abandoned factory and a cabin, but the town looks great as it is.

What is common with motels in forest? they include cabins/cottages.
This motel on an isolated area away from populated areas (but all populated areas on the island are gone - so this motel exists to serve people going through the island outside).
This island is poor/abandoned (only gas station and the motel are functional - might be changed later).
so one story of building (instead of two) and a few cabins?

Nothing, but in most games with empty towns (especially zombie games) It's common to see motels, forest, gas stations... It's sort of a stereotype.

Ya, we need a factory too. This will do.

Cool! I chose this image on purpose because of its creepy looks, but i am going to send some images of some real factories, just in case you have to change something in the future or if you want to combine things from many references into one. We never know when new ideas will come

Was struggling on figuring out how to make damaged walls/stuff automatically, to progress fast, that got me burned out (so, break for a bit).

Big Project = Big effort. Sometimes a break is necessary. The damaged walls are a nice touch for the structures of the town, i assume most of them will be derelict so it makes sense, especially for the factory.

What do you mean by functional? You said the populated areas are gone, so will there be a few peds in these places or do these have a feature that can be used by the player or something?

By the way, will all the buildings be enterable and will there be parked vehicles and weapon pick- ups in the island/town?

I have to remove the town and focus on the island (and maybe cave too) first (vegs, texture blending, bugs fixing, props, etc) and release it. And then add the town back in later after. 'cuz I probably have 3 weeks left till the deadline (I thought maybe 2-3 months - I was mistaken).

That would be amazing if you ask me. No need to have enex, just an open space to enter and explore the inside and that’s it (like the bank you rob with Catalina). If at least some of the main buildings (motel,factory,asylum, gas station) were enterable that would be enough, and the rest could be done in the future if you wanted. Imagine being chased by the police and being able to get to the motel rooftop to shoot down the police chopper (Like in Jefferson Motel) or entering the factory and shooting from a broken wall of the second floor at the police outside while Swat agents rappel down to enter the building and have gun fights with you inside the factory. This reminds me of the military base in Vice City, you can get to the top of the tower and shoot everyone with the M60, while cops and soldiers will get upstairs until they can shoot you. Super fun.

It may not be as complete as you wanted at the moment, but it definitely looks good. The original place was just a bleak piece of land, and now it’s an actual island. The first time i saw it looked a diferente place.

You said the other day you would release the small island and then keep extending and releasing it in new updates until it’s finished.

I am a bit confused about this deadline. If you don’t manage to add everything you want until the deadline can’t you just add the new features in other updates shortly after? You said the other day you would release the small island and then keep extending and releasing it in new updates until it’s finished.

I need to push this out at or before the "deadline" (i kinda made it up - just an estimation - there's no definite deadline). I received an email from my coordinator from college warning there were few seats available and to submit my portfolio asap, to apply for enrolling this program/college (see link below). The deadline is actually September, but it's apparently popular and it's running out of seating availability that got me going "oof").

After this island is released for mixmods I plan to put it in Unreal Engine 5 as a demo, with the bells and whistles, to be used as my portfolio for this program/college. I just need to make this island look good enough to get me in college.
Then after the island's done and is sent to the coordinator, I resume and re-add the town back in, and add more stuff to the island, building/growing/expanding, like before.

This coordinator told me using Quixel assets is allowed (because assets from Quixel are licensed to be used freely on unreal engine) as long as credited/citied. So any textures you see that weren't baked/made by substance painter are from Quixel. I use substance painter for small/mid sized models (buildings, interiors, vehicles, props, etc). I use Quixel for seamless textures (cliffs, grounds, roads, etc).

Got me thinking - cuz using assets from Quixel is allowed. This allowance includes not only textures from Quixel - this also includes 3D models from Quixel. This would help speed up but this would likely reduce my chances of being accepted into the program due to 3D models from Quixel not made by me.

I am afraid that’s true, after all, in a highly competitive process, all details matter. Anyway, good luck with your application man.

It's hard to find images of simple schools, most of them are too modern or too big for a town, so i picked up the most simple models i could find that look good.
