WHAT IS THIS MOD ABOUT?
DYOM (Design your own mission) is one of the greatest GTA mods,it allows you to create missions from scratch without writing a single line of code. Now on the PS2!! Create missions,save them to your Memory Card and share it with people.
Just boot the game and start creating. Add objectives,cutscenes,actors,vehicles,pickups,change the player charater,change your stats,time of day,weather,wanted level. Let your imagination RULE!
This mod was created by GabrielGBR.and has NO affiliation with Rockstar Games, Dutchy3010,or PatrickW,and it is NOT a port,instead it was
created from zero, with the objective of resembling the PC DYOM.
HOW DO I CREATE MISSIONS?
To start creating your missions just boot up the game,or if already in one,create a new mission in the game's main menu (not the mod menu),then then from there the process is almost the same as on PC,so any DYOM tutorial can help,BUT,there are some differences compared to the PC,and for that,in case you still dont know how things work,here is a section with how all the objectives,actor,cars and others work.
MOD FUNCTIONALITIES:
HOW DO I SAVE/SHARE MISSIONS?
To save your mission simply open the mod's menu and use the option "Save mission",you will be asked if you want to save your mission, accept and select a slot from 1 to 8 to save,then the mission will be saved on your memory card,which you can later load,andin case you want to share, you have some options for the 2 different types of hardwares:
Emulator: If you play on a emulator you can simply share the memory card file on the internet,so people can download and play.
Real PS2: On the real hardware you can share you Memory card with friends that also have a PS2 so they can load it on their console,you can also download those missions from the internet and load them on the PS2 with OPL,alternatively i think you could,but i do NOT recommend because its of high complexity,but you could also dump your memory card and upload it,but try at your own risk.

SETTINGS:
The starting settings for the mission,things like time of day,weather,max wanted level,etc.
PLAYER:
The starting settings for the player,select the starting position / rotation and skin model
OBJECTIVES / TASKS:
Every mission consists of up to 50 objectives (technically 49,starting from 0,and 50 being the end of the mission),up to 20 actors,15 cars and 15 pickups.Just be sure that when spawning a actor/car/pickup that they're on the right objective,or else they wont spawn on the correct objective
ACTORS:
Actors also make up a big part of a mission,add up to 20 actors,select their spawn location and rotation,skin model,spawn and despawn objectives,if they are friendly or not,weapon and starting animation (that can be changed later)
CARS:
Cars also are very important,add up to 15 cars,choose a spawn location and rotation,vehicle model,primary and secondary color,and the spawn and despawn objectives.
PICKUPS:
Add up to 15 pickups,choose a starting location,type of pickup,model and the spawn and despawn objectives.

Checkpoints:
Place a red checkpoint on the map that the player have to go,it doesnt matter the car,weapon,stats,he just has to go there by any means.
Drive to checkpoin:
Works like a checkpoint,but the player has to get to the checkpoint while in a specific car,and if that car explodes,the mission fails.
EXTRA: if you create two or more consecutive Drive to checkpoint or Change settings objectives,you wont have to spawn another car for the next checkpoint,the game will use the same car used for the last objectives
Destroy car:
Pretty simple,you just have to destroy a specific car to continue.
Give weapon:
The player will receive a specific weapon
Kill enemy:
You will have to eliminate a specific target,you can choose the skin model,weapon,and then position and rotation.
EXTRA: To spawn more than one enemy by objectives,first create your Kill enemy objective,then spawn as many actors as you want (making sure they are set to spawn as enemy,and on the correct objective (remember,the last objective is always the End mission objective),and if they spawn on the same or before the objective Kill enemy you will have to kill the whole gang (killing only the objective is not enough).
Teleport:
The screen will fade and the player will get teleported to a defined position,and will have his model changed
Cutscene:
Works like the good old DYOM,if its the first Cutscene objective then the screen will fade to black then change the position of the camera,you can have multiple cosecutive Cutscene objectives with the option of camera interpolation.
No custom dialogue is supported yet(?),so you're gonna have to use some mimicry creativity.
Player Animation/task:
WIth this objective is possible to make the player do various animations and tasks (enter car,leave car,jump,walk,die,etc),and it can be used between the Cutscene objectives,so the screen wont keep fading out and in.
Actor Animation/task:
The same as the above,but for an existing actor.
Pickup:
Creates a pickup on the map that you have to collect to continue.
Remove weapons:
Remove one or all of the player's weapons.
Change settings / stats:
Allows you to change the game settings mid-game,they're all self explanatory

CUSTOM SAVE FILE:
Now your missions will be saved on their own save file,so if you have 2 GTA SA discs,you can save both games on the same memory card.The original SA Save files wont appear on DYOM to load,and DYOM missions wont appear on the original GTA SA to load,they will also appear as separates when browsing your Memory Card on the PS2 MC explorer.
MULTI-LANGUAGE (sort of):
Now you dont need to manually install translations anymore,as now,thanks to this mod,you can change the language in the pause menu.
Still,the only languages completly available are Portuguese (over spanish,for now) and English,meanwhile the other languages will affect the pause menu,but the DYOM menu will appear as "invisible".
Now your missions will be saved on their own save file,so if you have 2 GTA SA discs,you can save both games on the same memory card.The original SA Save files wont appear on DYOM to load,and DYOM missions wont appear on the original GTA SA to load,they will also appear as separates when browsing your Memory Card on the PS2 MC explorer.
