Mod Description
This is a mod that works with
Reshade to split the screen without making any major modifications to the executable or memory addresses. Since it's not a modification in game in theory it can work with any modded GTA SA.
On the other hand, includes a simple cleo script that takes advantage of the 2 player mode code from GTA San Andreas seen on XBOX, PS2 and (unfortunately) also on PS3. With these 2 elements combined we get a convincing and fake split screen, enough to spend some time having fun.

Missing features
- Camera detecting collision Current versions detects collisions...
- Share screen. (I refer that the screen it's always split because ReShade)
Bugs with no solution
- Randomly players' screens will swap. Normally after wasted/busted and when using mods that stop time.
- Very minor visual issues. ENEX markers, jetpack effects, shadows, swimming, sprites on screen, etc... It's nothing that interferes with gameplay.
- Traffic/peds can spawn/despawn out of nowhere if players are not facing the same direction.
- Did I already say broken audio?
- FPS drops. Especially during shooting.
- Sometimes auto-aim gets confused and points in the direction of the other player's camera.
- Scripts that uses custom camera position, even in storyline, doesn't work.
Requirements
- Essentials, especially Cleo+
- Anything that is required by the mod that you're using to play with 2 players.
- Reshade (it's included in download)
- In game limit the minimum fps to 60 so each player gets around 30fps (use Frame Vigilante or Mix Sets for that)*
*or you can also turn off the frame delimiter but it's not recommended since the camera speed depends on the fps. Also to prevent native bugs by playing with high fps.

Split Screen for 2 Player Mode
To install it just drag everything to the game root. As I said above, you must get the 2-player mod of your preference.

*See configuration below in the same post. Not recommended for playing storyline missions since cutscenes may crash due to aspect ratio. To select this option open your ReShade menu (HOME key) and check the horizontal plugin and uncheck the vertical plugin, after you made the configurations needed to get a decent aspect ratio).
Recommendations / Configurations
- If you're going to play with 2 Player Deluxe, you MUST change the value "splitscreen_enhacements" to 1. Added from version 1.4 onwards.
Also, in 2 Player Deluxe there's a option in the .ini file and in the game menu, this is only to show an correct aspect ratio for the icons overs player head.
- Play with two controllers since it's not properly adapted for keyboard/mouse.
- Don't use any custom HUD other than the original.
- Since the screen is "squashed" I personally configured my Widescreen Fix with the following values (open your GTASA.WidescreenFix.ini and replace)

I recommend that you place in the root of your modloader your "Widescreen Fix by ThirteenAG" from Essentials, so you will have 3 different Widescreen settings for the vertical, horizontal and original configuration of your game instead modifying the same file over and over...

Is there a limit distance between players?
- It depends on the mod you are using to play with 2 players.
Can you enter interiors?
- It depends on the mod you are using to play with 2 players.
Can players drive different vehicles?
- It depends on the mod you are using to play with 2 players.
Can players use weapons that were restricted on XBOX/PS2?
- It depends on the mod you are using to play with 2 players.
Can you do story missions in co-op?
- It depends on the mod you are using to play with 2 players. And if the mod allows it, I can't assure you that you will be able to complete the whole storyline.
It's compatible with X mod?
- Should work in theory with any mod. It's not a modification in game, it's a mod made with Reshade plugins and the original co-op mode with some modifications.
I already have Reshade installed for other graphics mods, can this cause any problems?
- Make sure it's a recent version of Reshade and sort the plugins correctly to avoid errors (literally called first, second, third and fourth).
How do I disable the mod?
- Press the "HOME" key and deactivate the checks.You can disable the cleo script from modloader.
But I don't want to have Reshade installed.
- Delete the d3d9.dll file. Then delete the reshade-shaders folder.
Can it be changed to horizontal screen?
- Yes! In 1.2 version you can. Just select the horizontal plugin from reshade and make the resolution configurations needed for a better aspect ratio.
My game it's just splitscreen without 2 player mode
- You don't have a mod to play with 2 players
The screen flickers quite intensely, for God's sake I think I'm blind
- In game press "HOME" and activate "Splitscreen for San Andreas". If it doesn't appear in the menu it means that you have not installed fx correctly or Reshade.
It has a lot of lag.
- Disable the frame limiter. Your game must run at over 60fps to at least get 30fps per screen.
Why do players run with a weird angle?
- Technically speaking, players are trying to run towards the direction of the camera of the other player, this is most noticeable when both screens are not facing the same direction. Even if is not recommended, playing with more than 100 fps barely fix this.
