I see people still using kam's script. It's super bugged (breaking verticles at import the main one even though if it's not a bug) compared to aap's beautiful script. Sure aap's script got less features (map io for example - only reason I use kam's) but that's fine because there are external tools to mess with that supplement aap's script (rw analyze, 2dfx tool, aap's convdff tools, col editor 2, etc). Worth them over kam's super buggy script.

Does aap's script works with custom made ped skins? (i.e. making a Mario skin to replace Claude or BMYPRO, something like that).

I'm getting tired of KAMS unreliability, mainly in the aforementioned vertex breaking, but I keep using it for the normal shadows (which I had a problem regarding them and the newest versions of KAMS, thankfully solved)

This is probably common knowledge, but for anyone who doesn't already know...

The 2018 KAMs GTA_DFF_IO script breaks the normals on ped/character export (i.e., you will see seams and other artifacts even after everything is cleaned up and welded). This doesn't happen with the original exporter. You can still use the original GTA_DFF_IO.ms alongside the 2018 version by running it manually from the script menu. *Note that most of the other scripts (including the importer) will not work without the startup scripts.

Also, there are some lighting differences between kam's and The Hero's scripts, so depending on how you want your final character to look, KAM's may be the preferred option. I would argue that The Hero's looks better in most cases.

You may also need to use the older version when exporting objects for use with MEd (the old GTA Map Editor), as it sometimes chokes on 2018's output. So far I haven had a problem with The Hero's script, but I can't really use it for map objects.
